The Blues have been alive and well and living in New Jersey for some time now. Although Blues "hot spots" like Chicago, Memphis and New Orleans have garnered their fair share of the limelight, Blues has long been a staple of clubs, coffeehouses and festivals in the Garden State. This CD was developed to show the depth and breath of this area's talent and is a co-operative effort between the artists, the United Jersey Blues Network (UJBN) and Silk City. The UJBN is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, dedicated to the education and furthering of the Blues. All proceeds from the sale of this CD will be used to establish The Johnny "Clyde" Copeland Memorial Scholarship Fund for deserving youths seeking educational opportunities in the study of music. Grammy-nominated singer, Kate Hart created "Detroit Women" based on the successful group "Seattle Women." Seattle Women were pulled together for one show in Seattle and still going strong 18 years later.
